Eric Wood Leaves The Beverley, Binh An Nguyen Steps In

Eric Wood has announced that August 8 was his "Last day on the stoves and at the helm of the Beverley." The news comes just a year after he joined the newly-opened hotel as executive chef. Throughout his career, the nomadic chef has taken his culinary skills from coast to coast, working in kitchens from B.C. to Turks and Caicos— and now he's on the move again. He promises a return to locally-focused cuisine, however, the actual locale still remains a mystery. The cheeky announcement hinted at his next step, "Look East, as more than the sun is rising."

In the meantime, The Beverley did not hesitate to announce that Vietnam-born Binh An Nguyen will be taking over as the hotel's executive chef. Raised in Ontario, Nguyen brings 10 years of culinary experience in Toronto, including working alongside Eric Wood at Hawthorne Food & Drink before joining his team at The Beverley. In their announcement, the hotel did not forgot to mention that the staff "[wishes] Eric well in his future projects."
