After four and a half years, and a month of brunch tests that involved Pay-What-You-Want prices in exchange for honest feedback, Belljar Café launches their full brunch service this weekend. Lisa Kannakko, co-owner of the west-end café/bar/live music venue with her husband Geoffrey McPeek, has worked closely with Sandra Ineichen on menu development and will offer up sweet and savoury crepes, eggs benny (pulled pork, smoked salmon, spinach), waffles with fruit or pulled pork (both with Jack Daniels maple syrup), salads, and a selection of smoothies. Kannakko, also a professional photographer, is excited for this next phase: "It's going to be a great brunch. The final printout of the menu will happen in two weeks. There will be hand-written menus for this weekend. (laughs) And this weekend there will be prices on things."
