A suspected April Fools Day prank has left a lobster dead, a nation in mourning, and animal activists with their noses to the ground. Yesterday, "Mickey The Lobster" was anonymously abandoned in a St. Catherines restaurant parking lot and the Lincoln County Humane Society leaped into action: they bought the ailing Mickey a saltwater tank, and put out calls for someone to adopt the crustacean. Three offers came from Atlantic Canada but, before he could be shipped off, Mickey passed quietly in the night. As The Globe And Mail reports, the LCHS has launched "an investigation into how the lobster ended up in the box in the parking lot." The film rights, as yet, are still up for grabs.
