Not to be outdone by other recent (potential) cat cafe news across Canada (here and here), plans are now in motion (maybe) for Toronto to get its very own. Would-be owner Jennifer Morozowich and a business partner plan to open Smitten Kitten Cafe, telling Metro News that the project is still in the early stages, with brand development, a location (likely in the Bloor and Christie area) and a crowdfunding campaign all in the works. Morozowich's reason for wanting to open the feline eatery? "I just want to sit in a room and pet cats all day." The cafe would offer unlimited free coffee and pastries, as well as a respite "away from the stereotypes about 'crazy cat ladies' and the like."
