No matter how great the service, restaurants can never fully predict a diner's needs. One night, Commander Chris Hadfield – the first Canadian to walk in space, who has flown two space shuttle missions, and rocks a mean David Bowie – waltzed unannounced into Pizzeria Libretto with six family members. They ordered pizzas for the table but Chef Rocco Agostino, and his staff, wanted to do something special for their distinguished guest. They could never have predicted what they had to do after Hadfield accepted. In Agostino's words:
"We decided to send a Piatto board (charcuterie plate with mixed meats and cheese) with some accompaniments for the family. We ended up having to write a letter to NASA about the ingredients that Chris ate because his diet was still being monitored after his space flight. He was a smart and cool person that we had the pleasure of meeting."
