AJAX – On February 22nd, Shamrock Burgers holds its 2nd Annual World Monster Sham Eating Contest. The "World" part might be a bit of a stretch since the battle will pit competitive eaters from the small chain's Brooklin, Ajax, and Scarborough locations, but one thing is guaranteed: it ain't gonna be pretty. Contestants have ten minutes to eat as many burgers as humanly possible. Last year, the "lucky" winner from the Scarborough location took down 60 ounces of meat. CITY-WIDE – Second Harvest Food Recuse has deemed February 13th Hero Day 2014, a fundraising initiative to help raise money for the food bank. Not one to be outdone, Salad King (340 Yonge St.) has decided to start earlier (the 9th) and continue through to the 15th.
