ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT - Food and film lovers rejoice! Announced this morning, TIFF's popular series Food on Film is back for its third year. Running March 12th through to July 9th, and hosted by Matt Galloway (CBC's Metro Morning), the series explores the world of culinary cinema; each week will include a screening, followed by a discussion with a guest culinary guru. Momofuku Toronto will be the series' programming partner and the first 150 subscribers will receive a $50 Momofuku gift card as well as a one-year print subscription from media sponsor Canadian Living magazine. Momofuku Milk Bar founder and owner, chef Christina Tosi, will host the May 7th screening of the classic Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory followed by a dessert focused discussion. Other guests include food writer and Lucky Peach editor Peter Meehan, award-winning actress and best-selling author, Madhur Jaffrey, and star mixologist, Charlotte Voisey.
WOLFVILLE, NOVA SCOTIA - Also announced this morning, Devour! a Nova Scotia food film fest calls for submissions. Going into its fourth year, the festival showcases the culture of cinema and food with various galas, panels, and food demo's held in Wolfville, the city once dubbed "Canada's secret foodie destination" by the Hollywood Reporter. The upcoming line up will showcase over 30 film screenings from around the world and runs November 12-16. Film submissions can be made via Withoutabox until May 30, 2014 (extended deadline June 27, 2014). — Hana Hussein
