Food Network Canada's Chopped Canada premiered last Thursday and, a day later, the show's media company announced it was the highest rated series premiere in the network's history. Good news for the huge number of Toronto-based chefs who are all over the show's inaugural season. Fans got in on the action to help the hashtag #ChoppedCanada trend nationally well before the show aired and into the next day. Each episode, for the prize of $10,000, four chefs battle the clock, and one another, to impress a panel of celebrity judges with spontaneously conceived dishes made from a basket of mystery ingredients. But the sad question remains: Who will front the cash to fly Jonathan O'Callaghan, Museum Tavern's Chef De Partie, and his mom to Malta? The battles continue this Thursday at 10 pm ET/PT, with encore presentations on Saturdays at 12 pm ET/9am PT and 8pm ET/PT.
