The latest mammoth restaurant and bar to hit downtown is Hunters Landing in CityPlace, and it's set to open September 19. From the team that brought us Liberty Village's Williams Landing, King West's 2 Cats and the Financial District's now-deceased South of Temperance, this latest venture takes advantage of the yuppie-heavy CityPlace neighbourhood.
Hunters Landing is a sleek restaurant that seats 380 with a 2000-sq-ft terrace and private event space available to rent called the Bird's Nest. Their menu is almost as large as the venue: there's mussels with house-cured bacon and kale, ale brisket sliders, fish tacos, crispy calamari, gluten-free hot wings, hickory smoked pork ribs ... and that's just for starters.
If the atmosphere of sister resto, Williams Landing, is anything to go by, expect a 20-and-30-something crowd, bustling after-work scene, and a great place for dates (or to meet future dates) on the weekend. The 'Landing' success has even spread beyond the GTA: there's now a Harpers Landing opening soon in Oakville.
With its proximity to condo dwellers and Rogers Centre/ACC goers, Hunters Landing is sure to attract a crowd. Oh, and come October 15, they'll deliver within CityPlace too.
