Pop-Up Wine Shop; Beyond Bubbie

ST. LAWRENCE MARKET— There's a wine pop-up shop from e-commerce site Wine Wire coming to Front and Church from November 19-22. Wines not available at the LCBO will be sold to consumers looking for "amazing wines you only find in restaurants." [Toronto Life]

THE ANNEX— Food writer David Sax will host a "living cookbook" on November 14 called Beyond Bubbie which pays homage to the women who feed us. The event takes place at Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre and tickets are available online. [Grid]

TORONTO— Despite their success at home, in professional kitchens it seems women are not wanted. Eater spoke with TIME Magazine's Gods of Food section editor Howard Chua-Eoan about how the issue came together and how it came to be that the only two female chefs covered are pastry chefs. [Eater]
