Toronto may not be a melting pot, but with all the ramen shops popping up across town, it seems to be turning into a bowl of noodle soup. There's Touhenboku Ramen opening soon on West Queen West; Kinton on Baldwin; Sansotei in Chinatown; and of course David Chang's Momofuku Noodle Bar empire.
A-OK Foods, from the people behind Yours Truly, may be closing next week but Queen West newbie Touhenboku (moving into nearby a space) is just the latest in a long line up of ramen restaurants.
So where's the best ramen in Toronto? Depends on who you ask.
Favourites of many Torontonians include Santouka Ramen, Raijin Ramen, Kenzo Ramen and Niwatei.
And although some may say Momofuku Noodle Bar is better for anything but the ramen, the humble noodle was what started Chang's culinary takeover so he must be doing something right there.
